You and your Wichita Family Dental doctor may determine that you need an extraction to remove a tooth. Sometimes, baby teeth do not come out on their own and may need to be extracted to make room for permanent teeth. Some severely decayed teeth may need to be extracted in order to save the surrounding teeth. Some broken or impacted teeth may require extraction. Extraction may also be performed before orthodontic treatment.
THE EXTRACTION PROCESS
The extraction process with your Wichita Family Dental doctor is generally quick and painless. Sedation is available for those patients who want it.
At the time of extraction, the doctor will need to numb your tooth, jaw bone, and gums that surround the area with a local anesthetic.
AFTER TOOTH EXTRACTION
Following your tooth extraction, your surrounding teeth may shift. Please ask your Wichita Family Dental doctor about tooth replacement to prevent complications.
